4th Annual Winter Heat Tour set to invade your hometown!

Winter Heat Olympics set to headline 2007/2008 Winter Heat Tour.

Kalamazoo, Mi – Race For Kids Sake, Inc.  is proud to announce that the Winter Heat Tour is set to invade a town near you this winter. The first event stop is scheduled to be on Saturday, November 17th, at the Otsego Washington Street School (Old Middle School) with a 6:00pm sharp. Other towns that are set to be invaded  in the tour are Marcellus, Comstock, and Galesburg.

The WHT kicks off its 4th season of action, this being the 2nd edition of the newly formed Winter Heat Olympics. The inaugural WHT event was held at Galesburg High School in November of 2004.  This historic day for the RFKS saw the Kalamazoo Speedway All-Stars defeat the Galesburg Speedway Hound Dogs in a basketball game that raised nearly $3,000 for an injured race car driver.  During that season, the teams consisting of racers, crew members, fans, and family battled WWMT Channel 3, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and all other comers in basketball games.

The 2nd Annual WHT saw the teams battle it out on the hardwood, playing tightly contested basketball with teams from WWMT Channel 3, the NFL Detroit Lions football team in a one-of-a-kind basketball game, and 107.7 WRKR radio crew.

In the winter of 2006, short track racer Todd Foote set up a meeting with RFKS President Andy Jach, with an idea that he had called the Winter Heat Olympics. The attendance was slipping on the basketball events at the WHT events, and Todd felt he had an idea to change things up. The WHO was a bracket style tournament with games such as basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, and floor hockey, with six teams earning points toward the season championship. To spice things up a little bit, during intermission of these events there were hot dog eating contests, three-legged races, and other crazy events that the crowd would love. Todd’s vision led to record crowds at two events in Marcellus, Mi.

The WHT will feature the six teams for the 2007/2008 season. The Kalamazoo Speedway Young Guns, led by coach and Speedway owner Gary Howe, the M-40 Speedway Speed Racers coached by racer Scott Rozner, the Galesburg Speedway Hound Dogs coached by Speedway Promoter Ryan Warning, the McDonald’s Towing Mafia led by coach and short-track star Kenny Head, the Race For Kids Sake Invaders  led by coaches Luke Krick and Barry Smith, and the defending champions, the Victory Motorsports Vipers led by coach Todd Foote.

"This is the most exciting year scheduled for the Winter Heat Tour," says Andy Jach,  "Todd Foote has put a lot of time and effort into this great idea to raise money it was an easy choice to name him the chair of the Winter Heat Tour."

"This is going to be an exciting year with a lot in store for our fans that they will not believe what their eyes will see" says Todd Foote, RFKS Board Member and WHT Chair.

Anywhere you can access the Internet, it is possible to broadcast on StreamNet! They have well over 100 channels to bring the world our broadcasts. StreamNet Video has entered into phase two of their plan to bring live racing coverage to the internet.
